"Weimar are the most underrated Northern bands!!!"

I can say this with confidence - Weimar are the most underrated Northern band in the UK, and if you don't believe me listen to the new album. Their sound is like so many other bands, and yet no one sounds like them. They have a unique mix of awkward vulnerability and pure genius, you can listen to this at the bottom of this page. I can only compare them to The Fall, early Pulp and post Warsaw Joy Division. And just a hint of Lou Reed’s story telling. Although they only formed in 2016, they sound like they have been around forever.

I'm lucky enough to have seen them live several times and they are some of the nicest, sweetest people on the planet. Maybe thats what could hold them back - I dont think they have it in them to be bastards.  They are there to just enjoy the music they make and hopefully people will have a good time too.

Dancing on a Volcano is a great album to listen to and get to know them. A word of warning though:  Wiemar are not for the casual listener, you need time to appreciate the full tracks and not skip them after the first few seconds. Class example is ‘Heaven on high street East’, which is a great standout track.

Its not a throwaway Alternative Indie track, but a bleak portrayal of abuse and with a corker of a guitar solo and perfect atmospheric drums to match the mood from 'Eddy' Edwards. My favourite track on the album is 'Girls of LA', a wonderful heavy bassline by John Armstrong... some classic Manchester Post-Punk guitar from both Aiden Cross and Johann Kloos. This also includes some actual vocal harmonies too, which are provided by Aidan Cross

They sound like they would have been the darlings of John Peel, or of BBC Radio Six, but then again, they arent bastards enough. However, having this album under their belt and now working with Shameless PR, they could be about to make a difference. So watch this space, to see if they do.
