Tulisa - Female Boss

(CD Album Review)

***
Tulisa need to turn off the Urban flair and go Clubbing!!!

Everyone know Tulisa from N-Dubz and X-Factor, but this is something different from her this is her debut album. The cover of the record depicts a striking image of one of the most popular British females of the moment. Starting off with a spoken word piece which has a nice piano part under it, but it's a bit too loose woman for my liking so I don't really get it.

The fist track 'Young' is most definitely a chart smash and it has that great Euro groove behind it. I really like this I would love to hear this in a club on a Friday or Saturday night and I think that is what it's meant for and her voice sounds better than ever. This could even be an Ibiza smash if it gets the right remix.

The next track 'Live it Up' is a big disappointment and seems to come from influences I am not sure are her own with beats taken from World music, but the nice 80's sounding track 'Damn' grabs your attention a little more but I am not sure the vocals go with the music which is a real shame. If you didn't like 'Live it Up' you will really hate the track 'British Swag' which is just simply awful it's Jenny from the block getting massacred and is a track I don't  think I would ever play again.

I think when tulisa goes club she is very effective so I think sometimes she should leave her Urban flair behind her and concentrate on these songs 'Live your Life' is a good example of what she can do, but when their is songs like the terrible 'Visa' it makes you not want to like her. The album is really inconsistent and at times you will wonder why you bought it but when killer tracks like 'Kill me Tonight' appear you know why and I am sure you would play them to death. I would advise you to listen to this album but do not pay more than a fiver because you will be disappointed because only a proportion of the tracks are any good.
