Papa Roach - The Roach are just not as good this year!

Cut their life into pieces and re-invent themselves from album to album!!!

Papa Roach *** (Main Stage) the set starts off beautifully with some of the bands more heavier numbers and the falters out when they hit the ballads, which go down like a lead balloon. 'Between angels and Insects' might have stole a riff from Iron Maiden, but it doesn't really matter because it sounds great and rockin' in the Belgium murky wet atmosphere.

When Papa Roach played Graspop before they really triumphed in the rain with a frantic and chaotic live set. 'Getting away with Murder' is equally good have some edge to it in todays set with Jakob really hitting every note which doesn't continue later on in the set where his vocals go to pot. I like the way Papa Roach are always re-inventing themselves from album to album, but I do wonder sometimes if they lack a little identity and the re-inventing is just to hide they don't know what they are doing.

I don't think Papa Roach really made a connection with any new fans with their album 'The Connection' and they don't seem to be getting noticed and played as much as they used to on the music channels and in the clubs, with DJ's going always with older material normally from their most popular album 'Infest'. They do have a certain underground mainstream cool to them and I don't think they are going anywhere in the next few years, so look out for them touring at a town near you soon.

They end on their uber mega hit 'Last Resort' you are not left with a need for the band to go on any longer you have heard enough. They were brilliant at Graspop Festival a few years ago, but they just did create last times performance.
