Napalm Death cover The Cardiacs for charity!

With the news that Tim Smith the mastermind behind the band The Cardiacs has been ill for some time Napalm Death have posted a cover of The Cardiacs song 'To go mad and Things' It's available to download for £1 from their Bandcamp page. (with the option to donate more) all proceeds go to treatment for Tim's condition. It's got to be said it's totally worth it. Listening to the original song you can't imagine how Napalm Death could cover it but it works brilliantly.

It sounds exactly how you'd imagine really only madder! What's surprising is the contrast of how faithful it is the original track with the wacky keyboards and everything and yet how different it is at the same time. Barney Greenway sounds as ferocious as ever on it! Their last album 2012's 'Utilitarian' was pretty eclectic with some mad collaborations with John Zorn etc. and this track fits perfectly with that. Hopefully what they have done here will have a bit of an influence on their new material on their forthcoming album!
