Katie Melua - Announces Winter tour with Gori Women’s Choir

Katie Melua hits the road with twenty three friends 

For this very special winter concert series, multi award-winning recording artist Katie Melua is joined on stage by the twenty three piece Gori Women’s Choir. Masters of the ancient Georgian tradition of Polyphonic singing, Gori Women’s Choir are described by Melua as a ‘completely unique vocal orchestra’. Together they will perform new material from Melua’s forthcoming recording project as well as a selection of classic songs from her six album catalogue.  

Gori Women’s Choir was founded in 1970 at Gori’s School of Music, and is lead and conducted by Teona Tsiramua. Georgian Polyphonic singing has been designated by Unesco as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
