Jon Cooper talks to the legend that is Bruce Foxton
Jon Cooper talks to the legend that is Bruce Foxton of the cult band The Jam about what it's like to work with Paul Weller again!!!

Jon Cooper talks to Bruce Foxton a real legend famous for The Jam, Stiff little Fingers and now From the Jam. In a unique interview about the history and future for a man that will most certainly go into the history books, if he isn't their already.

Music Trespass: How would you compare the three major stages in your career? (Jam, Stiff little Fingers, From the Jam)

Bruce: All very important. Part of growing up. Part of maturing as an artist. The Jam and Stiff little Fingers ran parallel courses. From the Jam are supplying the need / demand for this music to be heard, played with as much conviction and passion as 77.

Music Trespass: How do you feel about the Jam era bands reforming, Specials etc...?

Bruce: Totally up to the bands concerned. From the Jam not only play the back catalogue, but new material.

Music Trespass: what has been your greatest album you have worked on?

Bruce: Most have been important stages in my career and development as a writer and musician.

Music Trespass: What do you feel made the Jam stand out in the Mod revival?

Bruce: We were heavily influenced by the original Mod movement so I suppose that's natural.

Music Trespass: From the Jam seem to tour extensively, are you encountering the Mods of the past?

Bruce: As I mentioned earlier. We are about supplying a demand for this great music to be heard. We treat all the songs with utmost respect. All are welcome.

Music Trespass: Was recording 'Back in the Room' a way of slightly escaping the past and trying out new things?
Bruce: I don't need to escape the past. I'm very proud of what I/we achieved. The timing was right for a new album.
Music Trespass: How has it been working with Paul Weller again?
Bruce: Absolutely fantastic, as friends and musicians. He did a great job on our album.
Music Trespass: What's next for Bruce Foxton and from the Jam?

Bruce: Constant gigging and writing for a new album.
