New band from Oxfrod for you to check out!!!

Enter Laughing are a North London based band, formed in January 2022. The members originally met in Oxford, where they bonded over a shared love of artists such as Roxy Music, Television and Jonathan Richman. They write frantic psychedelic music, with unconventional song structures, brought together by an innate sense of melody. 'Met me when I Landed' developed from a jam, led by a repetitive, marching drum beat. The song describes the petty grievances that fester towards the end of a failing relationship. “Just say when it’s over” relates to the internal conflict of knowing that a relationship should finish, but not feeling able to make this happen yourself.

The song has two very distinct sections that create opposing moods: the manic urgency of the verse sections, contrasted with the calm psychedelic wash of the chorus. The band draw inspiration from a number of sources. The funky bass playing is reminiscent of Les Claypool (Primus), the hectic organ solo calls to mind The Stranglers, and the vocals recall Sue Tompkins’ style (Life without Buildings).
