The most promising star... in today's Pop World

Emma Blackery ***** is an upcoming Singer / Songwriter who's lyrics are very cleaver, she also has a great stage presence... which she really showed at the London, Koko. She has already got a massive fanbase of loyal obsessive fans, that know all the words to all her songs... and even know the names to all of her band and crew. I have to say this is a little creepy at times, but shows the devotion she has got from her social media channels and her really well written songs.

Emma shows writing that is far past her years, and her use of word play is second to none. She opens up her set with the opening track off his album 'Villains (Part 1)' which like on the album is haunting, she uses dark red lighting to portray the feeling of the song. She continues her set with really strong songs 'Dirt' and one of my personal favourites 'Third Eye', which is a real Dance number. This song works really well live, and is so strong in so many different ways and her band are really tight and talented.

'Let it Be' one of her earlier songs, which she played when she supported Busted... gives a different feel... so mixes things up a bit. I have to say I prefer her newer material but this song is nice for a change in contrast. So when she bursts into already Pop classic 'Agenda', she has really warmed up the crowd and they are ready to jump around. The lighting get's better as she goes on with her set, and her vocals get stronger and stronger. So as she get's into songs like 'Icarus' you can see she is a real talent.

The clever wording on tracks like 'Fake Friends' and 'Petty' make me smile, these are nice ditties which grow on you every time you listening to them. And I think the fans like how she has put her real life problems into her music, even though if you have seen her before... some of her onstage banter has come out at various other shows before.

Which I was really surprised by, because she is talented enough to come up with more onstage material. She has really come on a lot from her early days, and seems to grow and learn from every tour she does.you. Saying all this this 'Sucks to be You' is one of the highlights to tonights set, it is really fun, and as she plays this you can see smiles on every ones faces.

So as she get's personal for a mid set chill down Acoustic section with guitarist Ryan, you have got a connection with Emma and her band. Finishing the set with single 'Take me Out', a song that I like more every time i hear it, you are left wanting more. And she really does give you more, as she comes back on and plays the brilliant 'Burn the Witch' and one of best songs 'Villains (Part 2)' the closing song for her debut album 'Villains'.

I really like Emma Blackery and I think she will just get bigger and bigger, but only time will tell. She needs to make sure she markets herself in the right way, and maybe some of the things she does... only makes her access able to certain groups of people. People that need help, the self help generation... when she could be the new Princess of Pop.
