Producer and Metal guru Ays Kura chats with Music Trespass!!!
Dan Devour talks to Ays Kura mastermind of Die Kur and the man who actually produced his last album for Death Valley Scars 'Suicide, Sex and Suffering'. Die Kur have been making waves with the anticipation for their new album 'The Scorpion' and amazing support performances to Die Krupps, Alien Vampires and the legendary Young Gods!!!. On the verge of the release of 'The Scorpion' we find out what it's all about.

Music Trespass: You are working on your new album 'Manifesto', when can we expect that to come out and how is it different from your last recordings?

Ays: The new Die Kur album is due to be released in fall this year. It still needs the final tweaks which we doing everyday now. I wouldn't say it's different from previous recording but it follows what's been the natural evolution of the band, it got heavier and in a way even more complex. But nevertheless it's still part of the same circle we started with 'The Fall of The Empire' and continued with 'ERA (Formicidae)'.

Music Trespass: Do you use any interesting instruments on the new album?

Ays: Yes! during the recordings of the album I had chance to use an "alien" percussion from AM drums, which was built especially for the band, they also managed to write Die Kur in soldered iron in it! As well I went to record a real harpsichord thanks to Mark Romson who build them and he invited me to his house where I brought a couple of microphones and recorded around one hour of harpsichord. Of course in the album there will be only around a minute out of it, but still it's been great. I also recorded a Steinway grand piano, various Metal percussions, a Tesla Coil (which blew my tweeter setting it on fire!), a toy helicopter recorded with a binaural head microphone I built, a bicycle… All the sounds in Die Kur albums are made from some crazy instrument/noise anyway and sampled it… All of this alongside of course Davide Drake Bocci (Drums), Barry Carrera (Guitar) and Amadeus RZ (Bass)

Music Trespass: You released the 'Manifesto EP' any of these songs going to be on the album and what is the first single off the album going to be?

Ays: The original idea was to have the 'Manifesto' EP in the new album but they might be just bonus tracks. The first single opening was 'It must Be (Destroyed)' followed by 'The Order of things to Be'. The new single is going to be 'With Us / Against Us' released on September 7th.

Music Trespass: Any interesting bands you working with at the moment?

Ays: I just finished the new album of Maxdmyz, it took me very lot of energy and time but it was worth the effort and I see it as a turning point for them. They are really solid musicians and nice guys and it's always a pleasure to work with cool people. I also wait for start the new single 'In the Sex' for Death Valley Scars and as well the new EP of Drilling Spree. There are lot of work in progress including all my personal side project as Nex Necis Machina as well as mastering tracks for Little death Machine, the more I'm working on something that's still not official but very cool.

Music Trespass: Do you have any crazy fans?

Ays: I think all our fans in a way or another are crazy… but to be more precise all people have their own way to express their craziness… our fans possibly just do it under stage or in any other situation.

Music Trespass: What do you think about the state of the UK Industrial scene at the moment?

Ays: The UK scene is suffering from what are anti-social decisions taken by the current politics and few of episodes made it even harder than it's always been due to lot of clubs closing or relocating. It seem like we are all under a very idle social pressure which wants to put our meetings apart but in favour of what? of making human more machine-like and less prone to expression, in my point of view. But as everything in life, also this tendency has a positive effect and that's to get people together. For example when Reptile had to be relocated, all of us unite to support the right cause, this was because we all need places like it and we couldn't afford to lose the main meeting in London.

Music Trespass; Can you tell me about who is in the band at the moment?

Ays: Davide 'Drake' Bocci (Drums) Barry Carrera (Guitar) who has been working with me for a while and performed at the recent shows at the Islington o2 Academy and the London Garage. Amadeus Rz (Bass) who I have been working with for a long time, he worked with me on the last Death Valley Scars album and has played live guitars for them so was the perfect man to get involved when I needed a bass player and myself Ays Kura I am the man who started Die Kur and it has always been my vision. Of course there are lot of people involved in the live and in studio environments as well as guests but the main performers are the four of us.

Music Trespass: You just played with Die Krupps how did that go, was there any special moments?

Ays: With Die Krupps we had a very nice moment as the venue was very warm and people seemed to receive very well our music. We had couple of small technical problems which we dealt very quickly and a misunderstanding between the management of the venue and the promotion which lead to a strange end of the show. Nevertheless we are very proud to have played on the same bill with Die Krupps as it's a legendary band, and they are really nice guys, Jurgen also told me he appreciated it
Slipknot 'The Negative One' cover (Pictured Above)
Music Trespass: What are your five favourite records at the moment?

Ays: I'm in love with new Slipknot single 'The Negative One' which they have only just released, and as well I really like King 810 latest release 'Memoirs of a Murderer', Manowar 'Kings of Metal MMXIV', Psyclon 9 'Use once and Destroy' and 'Grieve' from 'Maxdmyz'.
Music Trespass: What's next for Die Kur?

Ays: For Die Kur there will be the album launch with relative gig this fall and we will take part on Dark 7 Festival on October 11th and at the Renaissance Alternative Music Festival on December 6th. We will go back in studio soon to record some new ideas we have in mind for the following album (yes we think of that already!) and we plan to play everywhere possible to bring the message wider.
