Body Count **** (Main Stage 2) start everything off heavy, with the band Rockin' it out onstage... before Ice T even comes out and graces us with his presence. Their is a police siren and out comes Ice T, he tells everyone that "Body Count are in the house!" before he introduces the band and what they are about. The opening track is actually called 'Body Count's in the House' and as he was doing all this, looking too cool for school, you feel embraced into their show like an old friend that has been away and come back to see you again. The song merges with 'Body M**her F**king Count' and 'Masters of Revenge' nicely and you feel the pace is brought down.

Just to be sped up by their brilliant fast number that is simply entitled 'Bowels of the Devil', a song that really does come from Punk / Hardcore roots and shows of Ice's love for all things from this genre. They follow up this track with a song that I had on 10 inch picture disc and just put on repeat for about a year 'Necessary Evil', I think I must have worn out this record by moving the needle from start to finish constantly. It just shows off what I love so much in the Hardcore genre, it's a pure record that takes no sh*t and showed off that the band where not just making it on their Singer / Rapper's name.

Ice T announces that he is no longer Ice T or Ice M**her F**kin T, he is now Ice M**ther F**kin T B**ch, and that the fact men are not like men used to be and that they are now P**sy's and they needed to be punched in the face. Before he breaks into one of the bands most brutal tracks 'Manslaughter', this song verges on Thrash Metal and Death Metal and is one killer track. This is one of the bands best moments in their set and shows off what they can do... if they wanted to and that is to be one heavy band.

Today's performance is a real family affair and you can see that when Ice T introduces his son little Ice who has been doing backing vocals for the band today. Then you see him get gun downed for the track 'Drive by Voodoo', well pretend shot... but it looks good with fake gun sounds and everything. This song is really nice, it is fast and has a great groove to it and you can sing a long to it nicely and like all good songs in this genre short and to the point. You start to realise that Body Count have so many great songs as the burst into 'There goes the Neighbourhood' and namesake 'Body Count' which simply sound great.

Ok we all know that Ice T vocals at times for Body Count can be a little ridiculous, but what he has to say is of note and his lyrics are brilliant so really make up for it. So when he has something to say like in songs today 'KKK B**ch, Talk S**t' and closing number 'Cop Killer', you sit down and listen or in this case go crazy. It's also nice to see him pay tribute to a band he loves like The Exploited, which he does by playing their song 'Disorder'. It shows that he loves Metal / Punk and makes you identify to him more.

If you love Metal / Rap crossovers then you can't ignore this one, but I would say their a great Hardcore band in their own right too. Also songs like 'Cop Killer' are now legendary so when you hear Body Count playing them you get taken back years. I really like Ice T as a person to, he is always generous to a T giving away Body Count baseball caps to the staff and fans that have been head banging their way through the bands performance. He also gives a S**t about his fans making sure everyone is alright, unlike In Flames who just didn't care later on that day. He has compassion and is a true star and that's why he will go down in history, while other people are forgotten. This was a performance you did not want to miss, and one that we really enjoyed.
