BlackWolf - The Hunt

(CD Album Review)

***
Your new feel good hit this summer!

Imagine your in  a place like Newquay or Brighton in the middle of summer your in a cool bar that leads to a beach, everyone's good looking their drinking obscured flavored ciders and their dancing to a cool Rock band that suits the mood perfectly...well BlackWolf would be that band. Playing straight forward Rock with a bit of Blues thrown in "The Hunt' although it's not a mellow album.

It's pretty laid back and although it rocking it's not going to make you want to fight or f**k like The Wildhearts would make you. It does however provide a great soundtrack to a party. Vocalist Scott Sharp is awesome it's got to be said. This is showcased on 'Only said in Silence', he has the pipes of all the classics you would care to name.

Think somewhere between Bon Scott and Paul Rodgers. Album highlights include the catchy 'Moving Mountains' with it's infectious chorus and the band really let loose on 'Trouble'. It's a grower and it takes a few listens to really start revealing itself on their next album they would benefit from a few more immediate tracks and a bit more distinction but till then we have a whole summer ahead of us.
