Stadium Rock hits the London, Brixton, o2 Academy!!!

Black veil Brides *** are back at the London, Brixton o2 Academy on their 'The Resurrection' co headline tour with Asking Alexandria.  Black veil Brides are band I have personally listened to from the start but recently not been so into to, because they have not really hit my with anything new. Yes! their image is always changing and I think they always look really cool, I even liked the KISS esq. make up which a lot of people hated.

What I always liked about BVB was that they had a heavy edge, which really came out on their album 'We stitch these Wounds'. But since then they have got more and more like a 70's Rock band, with catchy but predictable chorus' which is shown on their new song 'Wake Up'. I thought they were getting on the right track with 'Coffin', but for me 'Wake Up' is fun... but lyrically not going to break down any boundaries.

So I think it's quite funny that these two songs follow each other in tonights set, But I have to say I love their new Punk Rock jackets in the 'Wake Up' video, they look very cool in a Pearly Kings way so kind of would work with a London audience. If you want a band with sing-a-long chorus' you can't go wrong with Black veil Brides, they are now a bit of a party band. So songs like 'Rebel love Song' and 'The Legacy' go down very well with their young audience.

I was really looking forward to tracks like 'Knives and Pens' and 'Perfect Weapon', but they don't seem as big as they used to and sound a bit tinny. So are the biggest disappointment in tonight's set. I would love to see them do songs like 'Children Surrender, All your Hate, Never give In' and 'Sweet Blasphemy' but I think they have moved on from these songs now. 'Vale' was the bands fifth studio album, and I guess they have to do so many songs from each record... to keep everyone of their fan base happy.

It is funny how the bands fans do not seem to age, and are always a collection of really young fans. With older fans seeming to move on from the band on each record, I have never really seen this before
with a band. But the people that are hear for them, which actually out weighs the Asking Alexandria fans are die hard and have been at the venue all day. I heard a lot of Asking Alexandria fans did not want to come to tonights co headline tour, because they didn't want to be in a venue full of young kids.

I do understand this a little myself, because I feel totally out of place, and kind of want to leave before the end of the set for this reason. But because I like the band, I stay to the end of the set. They end the set as they normally do with the big anthem 'Fallen Angels' and 'In the End', two of the bands biggest songs and actually end the set in the right way. They are two of the highlights and sound great, also
moments of Jinxx on the violin are kind of cool, and when William Control comes on the screen behind the band singing is really cool.

I felt at times they where just running through the motions, and just being Black veil Brides and not like Asking Alexandria taking you to somewhere new. Also for a band to be coming on last, I think they need the bigger show and longer set... something BVB did not have. I would go to see them again because deep down I do like the band, and their music... but I have to admit I was a little bit disappointed with them tonight.
